Coffee in the rain video
Venturing into Uffmoor Woods on a rainy day, to sit with a coffee, as it pisses it down, this is a simple pleasure that feels oddly satisfying. We find ourselves in the midst of storm Babet, and the nearby higher ground and Clent Hills weather is ensuring that Uffmoor woods are thoroughly drenched. It has turned the woods into a maze of newly formed streams, each attempting to find its own way downhill.
Uffmoor Woods is a stone’s throw from a spring that is the source of the River Stour, a significant tributary of the River Severn. Given the incessant rain today, it's safe to say that the River Severn will be surging in the coming days.
While the rain is undoubtedly heavy, it's not entirely unexpected for mid-October in the Midlands. This kind of weather comes and goes, and it’s an opportunity to witness these areas in their full, waterlogged glory. And what's especially intriguing is knowing that these soaked grounds will soon be carpeted with bluebells and fragrant wild garlic when spring arrives. Eagerly await the arrival of March.
Out.
