Here’s a preview of some of the videos that the York Collection holds…
Firstly, I thought it was only right to kick things off with an establishing shot of York Minster Cathedral. This one takes us from down low near the old city walls and gate, before heading up and over the wall to reveal York Minster surrounded by beautiful red-roofed Yorkshire houses. The shot ends on the Minster in an almost flat and square position some 56 seconds later.
As you might expect, the York Minster Cathedral features in whole load of shots in the York collection. This huge iconic building can be seen from all corners of the city, so much so that it was often difficult to frame out, both practically, and aesthetically.
It’s great to be able to offer shots of York with the Minster at all different angles and in all different lighting conditions. I’ve tried to include a bit of everything, full sun, low light, cloudy and overcast.
This shot takes us down past old chimneys to reveal the busy city streets with a huge York Minster backdrop in the late evening light.
For something a little more dramatic, you could check out this one. A surprise reveal of York Minster’s right tower.
Alright alright, enough with the York Minster footage. I’ll leave you with this one. It’s another establishing aerial shot, this time from behind a church in late evening light just prior to some heavy rainfall. The white stone of the Minster is lit with a beautiful soft red light which shines through brilliantly on the dark cloudy background. Fantastic.
This is a lovely shot. A backwards flying “surprise” aerial reveal of the river and general York city centre area.
The river ouse features in a lot of the York video clips too. Winding majestically through the old city, often with a river cruise boat full of tourists. These shots really help tell the story of the kind of city York is.
Another regular appearance in the collection of York video footage is of course, Clifford’s tower. This old castle, known as York Castle, has multiple shots of its own, including closeups, high and wide generics, reveals, establishers and is often in the backdrop of many others.
York railway station and museum are available in a few video clips. This particular shot reveals it from high and wide over the city walls as they’re lit by beautiful bright sunshine on an otherwise cloudy day.
It wouldn’t be a collection of York stock video footage without an aerial view of York Racecourse. This shot moves up and out over some suburban homes to reveal York Races.
