Stock Footage Licensing Terms and Conditions (Rushes, Clip Packs, SELECT, Broadcast GVs, Vignettes & Vertical Video)

Thank you for purchasing stock footage from Chris Homer. Please read the following terms and conditions carefully as they govern the use of the clips you have licensed, whether via raw Rushes, a curated Clip Pack, a custom SELECT license, a Broadcast GVs sequence, a Vignettes stringout, or a Vertical Video pack. By completing your purchase or downloading the material, you agree to abide by these terms.

1. Delivery of Files

  • Rushes: Upon successful purchase, you will receive a secure link to a folder containing the individual video files.

  • Broadcast GVs: Upon successful purchase, you will receive a secure download link to the full sequence file.

  • Vignettes & Vertical Video: Upon successful purchase, you will receive an immediate secure download link directly to the video file.

  • SELECT License (Single & Bundles): After purchasing a SELECT license, you must complete the selection form to identify your required clips. Delivery times (within 24 hours, usually 1 hour) commence once the selection form has been received. For "Banked Credits" (see Section 2), download links to the individual files will be generated as and when you redeem your credits in the future.

  • Invoiced Orders: For production companies paying via direct corporate invoice, master download links will be generated and issued manually within 24 hours of final arrangement or payment verification.

2. SELECT License & Credit System If purchasing a multi-clip bundle via the SELECT license, the following specific terms apply:

  • Credits: One "Credit" equals the license for one individual standalone video clip file from the archive.

  • Validity: Credits purchased via the SELECT bundles do not expire. They remain valid indefinitely until you are ready to redeem them.

  • Redemption: You may redeem all credits immediately or "bank" them for future projects. To redeem banked credits at a later date, simply contact Chris Homer with your original order number and your new clip selection.

  • Refunds on Credits: Bundles are sold as a discounted package. Partial refunds are not available for unused credits. Once a bundle is purchased, the value is retained in clips (credits), not cash.

3. Audio Allocation & Master Upgrades The following production rules apply to audio allocation and sequence upgrades across the catalogue:

  • Rushes & Standalone Clip Audio: Any audio heard in the website preview files for raw Rushes or Clip Packs is for preview purposes only. The final downloaded files for all Rushes, Clip Packs, and individual master clips are delivered completely dry (without sound) to maintain clean broadcast timeline workflows.

  • Sequence Pack Audio (Broadcast GVs, Vignettes & Vertical Video): Unlike Rushes, audio is included with your downloaded sequence files (Broadcast GVs, Vignettes, and Vertical Video), and you are completely free to use this audio in your edits if you like.

  • Burned-in Direct Shot Reference Codes: The preview files for sequence packs feature unique text codes burned into the footage. These codes serve as your direct shot reference. If a production requires an extended layout of a specific shot within the sequence (e.g., an uncut 15-second opening title sequence), the buyer can email that specific code to upgrade and license the individual, full-length, uncut master file (delivered dry) for £99 per shot.

  • Vertical Video Master Upgrades: These 9:16 Vertical HD (1080x1920) cuts are sourced from broadcast-ready native 3840x2160 master files. The watermark codes serve as your direct reference back to the original 16:9 4K masters. If your project scales up and you need the full horizontal clip, you can use that code to upgrade via a Select purchase, or locate the master sequences inside the Rushes, Broadcast GVs, or Vignettes packs.

4. Usage & Universal Broadcast License All assets across this platform are issued with a comprehensive, flat-fee Universal Broadcast License that permits widespread global deployment.

  • Clearance Scope: The flat-fee purchase price clears the footage entirely for global television broadcast, theatrical distribution, VOD streaming, digital media, promos, and perpetual social media use.

  • Licensing Rights: Rights are granted in perpetuity, worldwide, and across all media. There are no cue sheets required, no territory restrictions, no secondary royalty charges, and no recurring renewal fees.

  • Responsibility: It is the buyer’s responsibility to ensure appropriate use of the clips, including determining whether the use fits commercial or editorial restrictions. Some clips may depict identifiable landmarks, logos, or individuals; it is up to the buyer to verify clearance for their specific contextual use.

  • Ownership: Chris Homer retains the full copyright and ownership to all footage sold. By purchasing, the buyer is acquiring a non-exclusive license to use the clips, not ownership of the underlying content.

  • Model Releases: Chris Homer’s personal image within the clips is model-released and can be used without further restriction. All other background elements may be limited to editorial use, and the buyer assumes full responsibility for compliance.

5. Prohibited Uses

  • AI Training & Generation: Clips must not be used for Artificial Intelligence (AI) generation, generative media prompts, machine learning models, or training datasets of any kind.

  • Resale & Sublicensing: Clips must not be resold, redistributed, or sublicensed in any form, including as part of another stock footage library, template, plugin, or collection.

  • Unedited Publication: Clips must not be published or distributed in their unedited entirety (e.g., uploading the raw, standalone clip or unedited stringout sequence directly to YouTube or public platforms as standalone content).

  • Illegal/Defamatory Contexts: The clips may not be used in any context that is defamatory, obscene, or otherwise violates applicable UK or international laws and regulations.

  • False Endorsement: Clips may not be used in a manner that falsely implies sponsorship, corporate endorsement, or direct association with any third party, brand, or individual without their express consent.

6. Payment Terms

  • Payment can be made securely via credit card at the digital checkout interface.

  • Direct business invoicing and bank transfer (including BIC/IBAN processing) are standard alternate payment options available upon request for production houses and media networks.

  • All listed prices include UK VAT at 20%.

7. Liability & Indemnity

  • Chris Homer is the sole seller and provider of the clips. While no distinction is made between commercial and editorial use at the point of sale, the buyer assumes full responsibility for ensuring legal compliance with their final edit deployment.

  • Chris Homer is not liable for any legal claims, losses, or damages arising from the misuse of the footage or failure to obtain secondary permissions required by regional networks.

  • The footage is sold on an "as-is" basis, and Chris Homer accepts no responsibility for its use beyond the specific license parameters granted herein.

  • Indemnity: The buyer agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Chris Homer from any legal actions, liabilities, costs, or claims arising directly from the misuse of the footage or breach of this agreement.

8. Low-Resolution Screeners / Preview Files

  • Upon request via the free “Request Free Low-Resolution Screeners (720p Watermarked Previews)” product portal, Chris Homer may provide low-resolution (typically 720p), watermarked, low-bitrate preview files (“Screeners”) for testing and layout evaluation.

  • Screeners are supplied free of charge solely for internal evaluation and offline placeholder editing purposes.

  • They remain watermarked and may not be used in any final production, broadcast, distribution, or public display.

  • Watermarks may not be removed, cropped, or obscured, and Screeners may not be shared with third parties outside your immediate production team or client.

  • The provision of Screeners does not grant any license to the underlying footage. Full-resolution, unwatermarked 4K master files require purchase of the relevant product category or custom SELECT bundle.

  • All other terms in these Licensing Terms & Conditions (including prohibited uses and copyright rules) apply fully to Screener files.

Thank you for your purchase, and enjoy creating with these sequences!
