Part 2 of a collection of “silent” hiking and wild camping videos created in and around Snowdonia National Park.
Shot in 4K with no talking and no music, just lots of the sights and sounds while hiking and wild camping my way around this wonderful part of the world.
Snowdonia National Park Part 2, is a collection of 8 videos throughout Snowdonia.
Each video is also available independently, usually with an additional introduction or a behind-the-scenes section where I discuss the location and route in more detail.
Snowdonia National Park Part 1
Part 2 follows on from part 1, which was released in late 2020.
Most of the hikes and wild camps from Part 1 took place within the OL17 map of Snowdonia National Park. I highly recommend picking this up before venturing out. Don’t rely on a phone.

Winter Camping in Snowdonia
Part 2 starts out with “SNOWED IN - Winter Camping in Snowdonia”
A 2-day solo winter camping adventure, hiking up into the Glyderau mountains towards Y Garn. The weather got far too wintery for my liking, and I turned back and settled down for the night on the slopes of Y Garn.
The snow came thick and fast overnight and I awoke to some stunning winter landscapes. Beautiful.
I then had great fun getting creative and making the hiking scenes on the way down. Brilliant.
Alone in the Badlands - Rhinog Fawr
Alone in the Badlands is a 2-day adventure exploring the Badlands of Snowdonia. Hiking and wild camping on the summit of Rhinog Fawr in the Rhinogydd.
I was blessed with some amazing weather, a beautiful sunset, clear night skies and then an absolutely spectacular cloud inversion at sunrise.
Some of the best wild camping scenes I’ve ever had.
Camping on Glyder Fawr
After working in Tokyo Japan for 2 months, I got back out to Snowdonia National Park at the soonest opportunity…
It took a while.
Government covid legislation had me on the naughty list for visiting Japan, so I had to spend 10 days at home drinking beer before they’d legally allow me out…. what a time to be alive!
I soon found my way back up into the Glyders. Starting out in the Ogwen Valley, hiking up past Llyn Bochlwyd, Glyder Fach, and Glyder Fawr before dropping back down into the valley near the Devil’s Kitchen and Llyn Idwal.
A wonderful little long overdue wild camping trip. I’ve cut the intros and BTS sections out of the PART 2 video, but there are some cool beer-drinking scenes in the full individual video, check those out.
Cheeky Breeze on Y Garn
A 2-day wild camping trip in the Glyderau mountains of Snowdonia.
I hiked up to the summit of Y Garn before dropping back down towards the Ogwen Valley to shelter from some strong winds.
I took a new lens with me on this one, a big beastly Sony 200-600mm. It was a pain in the backside, but a fun trip.
Alone in the Rhinogydd
Quite possibly my favourite wild camping trip of all time, never mind the year.
Alone in the Rhinogydd is a 3-day adventure in the rugged wilderness of the Rhinogydd in Snowdonia.
I hiked up onto the summit of Rhinog Fach to wild camp there on the first night, and up onto Y Llethr to wild camp there on night 2.
The whole trip was fantastic.
The weather, the views, the mountains, the wild camping spots, the food. All of it. Fantastic trip.
I tried something a bit different with the BTS section on the individual video listing. Good fun.
The Ticking Clock - Camping on Pen yr Ole Wen
The Ticking Clock is a long lonely night of wild camping on the side of Pen yr Ole Wen while I try to capture a single video clip, a timelapse of Tryfan mountain.
It failed, but it was a great trip.
Being sat on the side of a Snowdonia mountain while wild camping, eating steak, sipping beers, and watching military aircraft rip through the valley below. Does it get much better than that?
The Observatory - Camping on Pen yr Ole Wen
The Observatory is another 2-day wild camping adventure on Pen yr Ole Wen.
This time, wild camping on the summit with gorgeous views of Tryfan and beyond. Stunning.
Winter Camping in Snowdonia 2
Last but not least, Winter Camping in Snowdonia 2.
Climbing up onto the slopes of Pen yr Ole Wen, for a night of wild camping in a spot you should recognise.
The whole mission was again to capture that single timelapse video of Tryfan.
It failed, again, but what an experience.
The snow came down, low clouds wafted through, and I was treated to spectacular views and incredible wintery scenes for hours. Wonderful.
